The year is off to a good start
Mehler Texnologies has enjoyed a successful start to the 2009 trade show year. Attendance at three shows has shown that the economic situation is actually better than we are often led to believe.
The BUDMA construction industry show from 20th-23rd January in Poland was dominated for Mehler Texnologies by the Euro 2012 football chamionship. Both in the co nstruction of new stadia and in the expansion and remodelling of existing sports venues, architects and planners are making increasing use of textile construction elements, such as grandstand roofing. Many visitors to the show were very impressed by the textiles of the VALMEX® structure range. The plus points of the PVC-coated fabric, above all its significantly lower cost compared to PTFE, were just as clear to them as the benefits of the double-sided PVDF finish for high-frequency welding without having to roughen the surface first. 
Also staged in Poland was the PROMO EXPO print industry fair from 3rd-5th February. Although visitor numbers were down slightly, Mehler Texnologies was able to successfully promote the new textiles from the VALMEX® print range. There was particularly lively interest in the Economy sub-range, featuring Mesh outdoor, and in the new Backlit easy. In the Plus sub-range visitors were able examine the exceptional printing and processing qualities of our new Mesh deluxe.
R+T 2009 (a show for roller shutters, doors and gates) took place from 10th-14th February in Stuttgart. For the first time, in  collaboration with its partner ITI Arredo from Milan, Mehler Texnologies was exhibiting its sunshade materials. The new, jointly developed Solgreen® awning fabric took pride of place and met with great interest from visitors from many different countries. The fact that visitors from ‘high sun’ and ‘low sun’ regions were roughly equal in number clearly shows that providing shade from the sun is becoming increasingly important all over the globe.
